Handsome, exquisitely fragrant flowers from tender bulbs that should be potted with half the bulb above the surface of the soil, and repotted every three to four years in March, in sandy, acid soil.
Amarcrinums are evergreen, but they may be dried off and the bulbs stored in pots (like amaryllis) if you can't spare the space for them when they are not in bloom.
Flowering time is winter and early spring. As XAmarcrinum is a hybrid between Amaryllis and Crinum, many beautiful varieties are available.
