Clusters of 2-inch scarlet lilylike flowers appear in spring and summer if liquid fertilizer is given every 3 to 4 weeks during active growth.

Pot the tender bulbs in fall in well-drained fibrous soil; never allow the soil to dry out, but keep moderately moist even during rest period following flowering.

Disturb roots as little as possible, repotting only when pot is overcrowded.
