Either the shrubby or trailing type can be used in baskets, but the trailer with lavender flowers (L. montevidensis) makes the most attractive display.

Blossoms of dwarf forms of the garden lantana (L. Camara) are white, bright yellow, or pink. Lantanas grow well in a cool greenhouse, but 60 F is best for continuous flowering.

Use a slightly sandy soil and let plants get moderately dry between waterings. Fertilize frequently, grow in full sun or light shade, and cut back as necessary to keep plants within bounds.
