This evergreen plant has attractive glossy, waxy, gardenia-like leaves, almost everblooming flowers of overlapping petals of bright salmon color.

Grow in mix of equal parts of rich loam, peat, and clean sharp sand. Seeds are slow and uncertain to germinate, but 3-inch tip cuttings root readily in moist sand with bottom heat and high humidity.
