Emerald-green foliage and lavender-blue or snowy-white flowers make lovely plantings for a hanging basket; add an ivy-leaved geranium like pink-flowered 'Santa Paula' and you will be delighted with the effect.
Browallias are also excellent pot plants, several to a 5- or 6-inch bulb-pan. For best flowering, grow near the heater as these thrive with more warmth than most other plants in the cool greenhouse. Sow seed in February for spring bloom, in July and August for winter flowers; seeds germinate in 15 days. Grow in sun or partial shade.
Pinch plants repeatedly to induce branching and to show off the flower clusters to advantage.
B. speciosa alba; 'Blue Bells', lavender-blue flowers; 'Silver Bells', glistening white flowers.
