Really a tree, with a very straight heavy trunk and a beautifully proportioned spreading crown of light green, fluffy fronds.

Needs filtered sunlight, grows slowly to 3 to 4 feet tall after several years, by which time it will need an 8- or 10-inch pot.

Meticulous attention to watering is required, because this treefern, delightful for accent in a greenhouse full of flowers, does not survive a drying out.

Will do well only in a greenhouse that maintains high humidity and 60 F at night.
