A fibrous-rooted epiphytic evergreen trailing plant with waxy leaves, aeschynanthus flowers off and on throughout the year when given the culture suggested for gesneriads. Recommended: A. Lob-bianus and A. pulcher, red flowers; A. speciosa, 4-inch-long orange and red flowers. (Aeschynanthus was formerly called Trichosporum, and some dealers still list it under the old name.)
