Here is a descriptive list of plants that you will enjoy growing in your greenhouse at one time or another during what I hope will be many years of greenhouse gardening for fun. Suggestions for culture are included, also names of many of the species and hybrids known to be most satisfactory for amateur gardeners who want results.
The list is in alphabetical order according to the botanical names of the plants. You're in very good company if, like many gardeners with a new greenhouse, you know a snapdragon when you see one but don't know that the botanical name is Antirrhinum majus. If you know a plant only by its popular or English name (shown in small capital letters in the list), look that name up in the Index, where you will be referred to the botanical name.
The temperature figures shown beside each plant indicate night temperature useful information when you are deciding which plants you can grow in the night temperature at which you have decided to maintain your greenhouse (cool 45-50 F; moderate 55-60 F; .or warm 65-70 F).
