Things To Do

Put up wiring frame supports for carnation cuttings made in November and December. Spray chrysanthemums against aphids. Cultivate bench soil.

Make cuttings of carnations, African-violets, and begonias. Bring in some potted bulbs for forcing.

Schedule as little work as possible. This is the season to enjoy your greenhouse efforts. The house is a riot of color for Christmas: red and white noinsettias, white and pink cyclamen, orange-red blossoms of crown-of-thorns, pendulous blossoms of Christmas cactus in profusion. Hanging baskets of browallia and oxalis are at their loveliest. Fragrance is everywhere from bouvardia, hyacinths, gardenias, and carnations.
